Driade

Driade was born in 1968 on the initiative of a founding group made up of Enrico Astori, Antonia Astori and Adelaide Acerbi. Right from the start, it established itself for the quality of an original proposal and an innovative industrial policy which developed Driade as a designer factory capable of producing design furniture as individual designer objects.

The history of Driade from the early years is intertwined with the history of Italian design, marked by Giotto Stoppino and Rodolfo Bonetto, Enzo Mari, Nanda Vigo, Massimo and Lella Vignelli and De Pas-D'Urbino-Lomazzi. In 1974 Driade won the Compasso D'Oro thanks to the Delfina chair designed by Enzo Mari, the first of three Compasso D'oro won over the years. Important collaborations began in the 1980s starring Alessandro Mendini and Achille Castigllioni, until Astori's enterprising spirit aimed at discovering new talents in the world of design, which led him to collaborate with the young Philippe Starck (still not known in Italy). From this moment other illustrious collaborations begin with Tusquets, Clotet, Littman, Ron Arad, Sipek, Tokyo Ito, Bellini, etc.

Over the years Driade marks important steps in the history of design, from publications in magazines to furnishing manuals totally dedicated to the company, won awards and important collaborations. Until 2019 when the brand chooses Fabio Novembre in the role of Art Director, the prestigious signature of Italian design  for years a proponent of iconic products from the Driade collection, and becomes their creative guide and ideal interpreter.

Today Driade is an aesthetic laboratory in the continuous search for beauty in living. The vast catalog includes furniture for the home, for the garden and for public spaces. They are objects of art and everyday use, souls that blend harmoniously.
