Davide Groppi starts in a tiny laboratory in the heart of Piacenza in the 80s. He, passionate about Do It Yourself, delights in building things together with his father. "A pinball machine, a telegraph ... a lamp: any object born only from the desire to move your hands".
Since then, the young designer from Piacenza, born in 1963, has been designing and producing stories of light that go beyond the study of the mere luminous body. Yes, because this is the main feature of each of his creations: to seduce and excite with lighting, without ever leaving Piacenza, thanks to a workshop of making, thinking and playing that bears his name and that over time has enlarged, Davide Groppi uses simplicity, lightness, mystery and depth, before metal and glass.

A passion that has led him to the realization of countless projects, many collaborations with important brands in the sector and beyond (De Padova, Boffi, Paola Lenti, Christofle, etc.), two Compassi d'Oro (to the Nulla and Sampei lamps in 2014 - photo above) and the possibility, new for 2018, to become part of the Guggenheim Intrapresæ Corporate Membership project. «A new travel companion to consolidate together a broader vision of the future».
